GENDER
The dimension of the genre is transversal to the whole of this project and declines through its various objects of study:
- on the one hand, it will make it possible to distinguish the differences of representations of boys and girls on homeopathy within the public school and university studied. In view of the conclusions of the European Commission, showing a greater involvement of women in the face of homeopathy, it will be a question of grasping if, and how this sexual dynamic is reflected over the ages. Beyond the social representations, the study will also make it possible to understand if the taking of homeopathic medicines in a public of children, teenagers and young adults differs according to the sex and the age.
- on the other hand, it will be convened with regard to the medical sphere and health practitioners. It will identify whether and how gender differentiation is occurring among physicians and pharmacists. This will include understanding the reasons or motivations that have led to the choice by practitioners of specialization in homeopathy, as well as their practices.
- Moreover, the study of the sphere of the general public and patients will also make it possible to analyze the way in which the health histories which pushed the patients to move towards the homeopathy are carriers or no gendered determinants.
- The gender approach will finally be carried out within the family sphere by defining how men and women invest the social web, particularly through health forums where, at first glance, the presence of women predominates. It will be necessary to grasp the extent of this predominance and the gender dynamics implemented.
